Coconut oil body butter is a simple, clean and effective way to protect and nourish your skin.
If you know me personally, than you probably know that I use coconut oil for just about everything. No, seriously….everything. My hair, skin, for cooking….heck, I even polished my shoes with it once, and they looked great! I have even used it to remove blue pen ink from my daughters white desk! The possibilities are endless, and the benefits are more than we ever knew in the past.
I use this body butter on my skin daily, because the lotions and creams that are available on the market have so many additives and fragrances. They are loaded with sneaky hormone disruptors, parabens and phthalates. You can read more about them HERE. Even the purest ones seem to have some unnecessary added ingredients. So, when I make a batch of this fluffy body butter, I can personalize it to my needs.
I have been using non whipped coconut oil on my skin and my children’s skin for quite a while, but it was a bit messy. During the warmer months my oil would be completely liquid, and in the winter months it would be rock hard. This whipped version is is the perfect consistency. In the warmer months I do put it on the door of the fridge to keep it cool for when I come in from the hot sun, and also so that it stays fluffy.
For this batch, I added only a bit of lavender essential oils for the perfect scent. Vanilla is another of my favorites.
I store it in a very small (and very cute) canning jar – it’s the perfect size to keep in my bathroom, or in the refrigerator.
These little jars of coconut oil body butter are perfect for a gift for friends, your family, or co-workers.
