strawberry smoothiestrawberrysmoothieThis smoothie is one of our go-to’s for smoothies in the summer. It gets packed in lunch boxes for camp, and in coolers for long car rides. Also, I will sometimes pack this little gem in my son’s sports cooler, along with a bottle of filtered water on warm outdoor game days, or in the winter for him to have during or after his indoor basketball games. It sure beats a bottle of gatorade and a bag of chips, and its nutritional burst of energy will keep him going and focussed for a very long time! Of course, his smoothies do not look exactly like the one in the picture when he takes them to his games. He drinks them out of a somewhat tinted, insulated water bottle without the pretty string 🙂 Sometimes a little improvising goes a long way!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups frozen strawberries (with greens if possible)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 orange
  • 1 Handfull baby spinach (optional, but I always throw it in there...why not, right?)
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 Cups filtered water
