applecinn (1)Fall has arrived, and with it, so has APPLE SEASON! Apple sauce, apple crumble and apple muffins, sliced apple with cinnamon… Apples are not only delicious, but they are very cleansing.

Our liver is responsible for cleansing toxins out of the body. One of the best—and easiest—things you can eat to help detoxify your liver is fruits—like apples.

This is one of my favorite Fall muffins. They are moist and full of flavor. The house smells marvelous when these are baking in the oven. These muffins have been inspired by Elana Amsterdam.

Time for apple picking!

Serves 10

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups almond flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup grapeseed oil
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 Medum apples pealed and diced
  • 1/4 cup arrow root powder
  • 1 Large egg

Directions

Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line muffin tins with paper liners, or grease tins
Step 2. In large bowl combine all dry ingredients
Step 3. In medium bowl combine all wet ingredients
Step 4. Fold diced apples into batter
Step 5. Spoon batter into greased muffin tins or paper muffin cups
Step 6. Bake for 30 minutes
Step 7. Enjoys!
